It was a big mess I felt bad for the kids and the untrained ratchet teachers. IN ORDER TO RUN a program your staff has to be trained and treated with respect. When I worked for Terri little pumpkin it was POORLY and not operated by a professional who truly cared for the kids and staff needs. He even sleeps better there than he does at home, Kathleen is a baby whisperer! I am very happy with the care here and would highly recommend Little Angels to anyone in the North Shore!. Knowing Little Angels care is so warm, loving and safe has helped me transition back to work and relieved my stress about leaving my son in someone else's care. We just started bringing our infant son to Kathleen as well. Kathleen also has been instrumental in helping us learn how to kindly discipline and teach our daughter proper, polite behavior. Kathleen knows how to teach to all levels, for example when younger kids are coloring or painting, our daughter can do that or practice her letters and spelling her name. ![]() Kathleen is very clean (she practices great hand washing with the kids!) and our daughter rarely gets sick in her care. Our daughter loves Kathleen like a mother and even sometimes asks to go to daycare on the weekends! Our daughter is part of her family and I feel very comfortable sending her there. She dances and sings with the kids every day, she teaches them yoga and encourages free play and creative fun. We have been sending our daughter to Little Angels Daycare for two years now. Just yesterday when I dropped the kids off at her house, my son told me to go to work! And when I pick them up, they are never in a rush to leave. I've found Carla to be very flexible and accommodating - and always willing to help in order to make our lives a little easier. My kids are treated and feel part of her family and enjoy their time at daycare. Just now she is helping with the transition to potty training and helping the kids to learn how to clean up after themselves, which is a huge help!Ĭarla is a very loving caregiver - I truly believe she cares for my children deeply. She is a great partner working towards developmental milestones. During that time Carla has fostered and encouraged both behavioral and educational development of my children. In the past, religions helped people to marvel at the intricate rhythms of nature. My 2 1/2 year old twins have been in Carla's care for over a year. This would mean extending the Golden Rule to include species other than our own and becoming sensitive to the life forces that surround us. ![]() We can-to an extent-emulate the Jains who carefully avoid inflicting an injury on any creature, however seemingly insignificant, walking cautiously lest they squash an insect. Perhaps we could sit in a garden or park for 10 minutes a day, turning our phones off, looking at the birds, flowers, clouds and trees and allowing them to impress themselves on our minds. ![]() The Chinese did this in a practice they called “quiet sitting” ( jing zuo) in which you sit comfortably and open your mind and heart to the sights and sounds around you, developing a sense of compassion-of “feeling with” them. We need to change the way we think, and we can learn much from the way people cultivated their love of the natural world in the past. If we want to save the world, recycling is not enough. Be masters of the fish of the sea, the birds of heaven and all living animals on Earth” (Genesis 1:28). And at the very beginning of the Hebrew Bible, God gives the first humans dominion over our surroundings: “Be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth and conquer it. Instead of regarding the sacred as a ubiquitous potency, Jews and Christians experienced the divine in specific historical events, such as the exodus from Egypt or the life of Christ. This western attitude is partly due to monotheism, the belief that a single god-rather than a sacred force like qi-is the ultimate reality. If we want to save the planet, we must learn to revere it rather than treating it as a commodity. Instead, we have used it primarily as a resource and we are beginning to count the cost. We do not, however, consider the natural world as sacred. In the modern west, however, we have developed an analytical worldview, which separates the material from the psychological and spiritual-and this has enabled us to achieve great things technologically.
